HOLDEN — An Assumption College police officer was injured Thursday morning in an accidental shooting at a training program that was conducted adjacent to the Holden Police Department, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
Assumption Deputy Chief Keith S. Hough, 55, received a bullet wound to his right foot when his gun fired as he was returning it to its holster. He was transported to the University Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester where he was in good condition.
Hough was participating in live-fire police training provided by Blue Line Corp., a private vendor. The State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s office are investigating.
